Blades Blues

she ain't starting singing yet!Double defeats against Leicester (0-1) and Ipswich (0-3) in the last eight days have barely given fans a boost in confidence; though once again against the Foxes they showed that on their day, pound for pound they can equally match attractive football against any other Championship side – even though they are blowing a blizzard in front of goal.

In such hardship it’s easy to be beaten and believe that League One football is only a game away, but let’s remember our forthcoming fixtures; United face Millwall this weekend before our game in hand against Reading. This is quickly followed by trips to Palace and Scunthorpe, six or seven points out of these games surely would lift the Blades out of the mire?

Of course, it’s easier said than done when you are struggling to win even one point but we beat the Lions and the Eagles already this season so why not do it again?

There are 17 games left of the season for United to play and this time last year it was Reading who occupied the last relegation spot (32 points from 29 games); they too had just previously changed their manger – come May they finished ninth and seven points away from the play-off zone.

It was our near City rivals Wednesday who dropped out of the Championship and whilst it may seem that there is no light at the end of the tunnel a quick change in fortune could see united performing what looks like a ‘miracle.’

Remember; the fat lady hasn't sung yet (see image); she did at Hillsborough on final day of last season. Keep the faith!
