Christian Nade was signed on a free transfer from French club ES Troyes AC; and scored on his debut in the 1-1 friendly draw at Rotherham United in late July.
He started his career with Troyes; coming through their youth system and made his debut in January 2000 against RC Strasborg in the French Championnat; the top flight League in France.
Last season the French under-21 international striker spent six months out on loan at Le Harve were he played 18 games.
As well as representing the French under-21 national squad Nade also qualifies as being able to feature for Ivory Coast.
Nade was spotted by former Blades striker Laurent D'Jaffo who has been doing some scouting work for United. "He's a strong, quick, central striker, not exactly your English target man." D'Jaffo told sufc.co.uk.
"He can hold the ball up well and turn with pace to get away a shot or create opportunities for others.
"His English is not great at the moment, but he is keen to learn, both on and off the pitch."
