Parrino was spotted by the Blades in the summer of 2010 when he came to Bramall Lane with Argentinean side Estudiantes de Plata in a pre-season friendly. The South American side fielded mainly youngsters but the then 21 year old showed enough strength and determination
On 1st October 2010 he joined United on loan until the remainder of the season. On his move to England, Parrino stated; 'I was really happy when the chance to join Sheffield United came up because I enjoyed the pre-season match here,' he said on the club's official website. 'Argentineans love English football and once I was told that could sign here it was an easy decision. My aim is to force my way into the team, do well and work hard to get a longer contract with Sheffield United.'
He made his Blades debut as a substitute on New Year’s Day in a 4-2 defeat at Burnley, replacing Nyron Nosworthy shortly after half-time.
