2007-2008 review - September

Last updated : 27 May 2008 By Jamie Furniss
An unpleasent return for Billy Sharp and a 3:2 loss against the Irons occurred in front of a 8,801 crowd. 2,200 Blades fans were packed in the away end but they had nothing to cheer about because on 37 minutes Andy Crosby netted for the Irons.

Martin Paterson doubled their lead after he could slide the ball past Kenny midway through the 2nd half.
Two late goals from substitute Danny Webber made the dying minutes of the game very interesting. He looked to have salvaged the Blades a undeserved point but Matt Sparrow re-claimed all three points for Scunny.

A 3:1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers was on the cards next after the Blades earned their 2nd league home win of the new season.

James Beattie rescued a point against Blackpool after a slip-up by Tangerine's keeper Paul Rachubka.
A 3:2 loss to Crystal Palace rounded off an undelightful trip to South London.

Billy Sharp scored his first goal as a Blade in a 5:0 win over League 2 outfit Morecambe. Luton Shelton and Lee Hendrie also recorded their names on the goalscorers sheet.

September started in misery and unfortunately ended in misery. Southampton came to the Lane and beat the Blades 2:1.
