A well earned rest

Malta

Four wins and two draws in the last six games has earned the players who won't be representing their country a relaxing break on the Mediterranean island of Malta.

Gaffer Kevin Blackwell said: "We've had a great run. I said to them about six games ago that the challenge was to stay unbeaten until now. We've done that and the lads deserve a break.

"They will do some training in Malta but its important that they get some rest, they have worked hard for it over the last couple of months. Its a chance to come back refreshed for the final run in."

The lads will endure some public training sessions in the heat of Southern Europe and will make a trip to a local hospital. As you will know, United are of course sponsored by the country of Malta (visitmalta.com).

The unfortunate players who miss out on the trip are:

*Gary Naysmith
*Jamie Ward
*John-Joe O'Toole
*David Cotterill
*Kyle Walker
*Justin Haber

Despite Justin Haber being on international duty, he will represent Malta against Denmark and Hungary in their World Cup Qualifiers. Ironically, the Denmark game will take place in Malta.
