Over 17,000 Unitedites renewed their Season Tickets and a further 2,000 people bought seasonal seats at Bramall Lane when they went on sale a couple of weeks ago.
Operations Director Simon Argall said: "The supporters response has been remarkable - both last year and going into the new season. Once again we had had queues at the ticket office last week when season tickets went on general sale.
"We have sold 18,741 tickets and are on course to reach 19,000. The fans have come back as a result of the excitement of last season and our affordable football offer."
