Are Town As Soft As Silk?

The Blades last game ended all square as a dull game in the heat wave against Gillingham finished 0-0, Wayne Allison and Michael Tonge produced best chances of the game but couldn't stick it in the back of the net.

No players were injured during the game for Neil Warnock's men so we believe that he may stick to the same starting 11 against the Silkmen. Still missing is striker Steve Kabba who is expected to be out for a month, although we are unknown to what is injury actually is.

The Silkmens's last game too ended 0-0, the Third Division club drew against Boston United at home, though it was the Pilgrims who could have won the game. Former Blade Peter Duffield hit the under side of the bar.

The Macc have four players out for this game, Steve Macauley is recovering from knee surgery, Chris Priest is suffering from knee ligament damage and keeper Steve Wilson has a back problem.

Meanwhile David Flitcroft (bother of Backburn's Garry) is suspended, there is cover for the goalkeeper though as Aston Villa keeper Boaz Myhill has been brought in on loan. It wont be the first time Myhill players against the Blades, he made his Bradford City debut while on loan their last season and wasn't a pleasant experience as the Blades struck five goals without reply past the Bantams.

This game is an historical game as the Blades have never met Macclesfield Town in a competitive game.
