The former Iron looks to retain his second part of the season performances into the new campaign in August. Sharp bagged six goals in the 2007/08 season including two against Morcambe in the Carling Cup.

Sharp said:"It was a tough start but i found my feet and playing every week certainly helped that. Coming Back was massive for me, i wanted to play for Sheffield United, i have supported the club all my life so once they had an interest in me i had no hesitation. I have improved from when i was here as a youngster, although i was not used to not scoring goals regulary."

Without a doubt his highlight of the season was his first goal of the season against Coventry in mid-March. He said:"My first league goal against Coventry was a massive highlight and it was even better because it was at the Lane.

"I remember thinking that game was going to be like the others, because i had missed an early chance, then had one dissalowed and i began to have doubts.

"Then in the second half 'Cotts' stood one up, i have nudged the defender and headed it home - i was absolutely delighted and my celebrations reflected that."

Striker partner James Beattie has influenced Sharp and says that he's a great player to be working alongside with. Sharp finished:"I have developed a brilliant partnership with 'Beatts', he has played his entire career at the top level and you can see that. He is a good character in the dressing-room and his goals have been vital this season."
