Barry Fails
Hayles was signed on a free transfer from Fulham in summer 2004 to Sheffield United but after only playing a few games he failed to impress Neil Warnock and the Bramall Lane crowed and was subsequently sold to Millwall for a small fee.

Despite threatening to disrupted the Blades plans last season he did not score in either of the two fixtures played last season.

Hayles Boasted; "I will be really fired up for the Sheffield United game."

"And if Carl Asaba plays for us, we'll have two ex-United players in the forward line. I'm sure Neil Warnock will have something to say about that."

At the Den last season Hayles made the same threat yet after doing nothing was substituted by Jo Tessem after 64 minutes, United by then had already seen Paddy Kenny sent off at half-time whilst Millwall had seen Kevin Muscat sent-off for the same incident.

With Phil Jagielka in goal the Blades bounced back via a Andy Liddell free-kick and Derek Geary's stunning half-volley in the last minute after Marcus Phillips had put them ahead. At the Lane Millwall did win 1-0 but Hayles, who started the game was substituted once more, this time after 25 minutes.
