Carney who beat Premiership stars Lucas Neill, Harry Kewell and Mark Viduka got the award for his passionate contributions says the chief editor of the FourFourTwo magazine.

Paul Hansford the chief editor said:"Carney has always had the speed, daring and ability to take on a defender, but his performances were all the more impressive because he was asked to take on an unfamiliar role as a more defensive wing-back."

Carney who has only made 12 appearences for the Blades in all competions has scored 3 goals.

Hansford continued:"His passionate contributions in difficult conditions in Asia put some of his more celebrated team-mates to shame."

Carney has made 7 appearences for the Aussie's and has scored 1 goal.
