The 50-year-old has steered his Sheffield United side through an unbeaten March. But he faces tough competition from fellow Championship managers Mick McCarthy (Wolves), Owen Coyle (Burnley) and Bryan Gunn (Norwich).

Chris Kamara who will choose the winner is impressed with United's recent vein of form. He said: "Sheffield United have had some very tricky fixtures lately and his side have performed magnificently.

"Four wins and two draws is brilliant and the pick of the results is beating Birmingham at the start of the month and winning at Cardiff on the last game of the month. Blackie is doing a great job and the play-offs are virtually in the bag, but he's looking for better."

Find out who wins the accolade this Thursday on Sky Sports News at 1:20pm.
