The League Cup draw was made yesterday at 1:00pm in Hong Kong, and next season's competition will be known as the Carabao Cup.
The draw included all 48 teams from League One and Two as well as 22 teams from the Championship. Newcomers Hull City and Middlesbrough were handed a bye.
Sheffield United were drawn at home to League One side Walsall in the first round draw. The tie may take place on Tuesday, 8th August but with rivals Sheffield Wednesday also drawn at home (to Chesterfield) this date may change.
