Blades Set For Triple Swoop

The Blades have already made the seasons long loan signing of John Cofie from Manchester United, whilst full-back Darryl Westlake agreed a two year deal after leaving League One rivals Walsall. Meanwhile they have been boosted by Chris Porter and Kevin McDonald signing new deals.

The squad are expected to return home today from their pre-season tour of Malta which saw them beat Zejtun Corinthains (6-0) and draw to Hibernians (0-0).

Naturally there is no mention of the possible signings and manager Danny Wilson is giving no clues; “Hopefully, possibly by the end of next week, we’ll have been able to bring two and perhaps three new faces in,” Wilson said. “That’s what we are working on now and, fingers crossed, we are able to get something done. Listen, it’s no secret that we need to get a few more people on board because we are light in certain areas. For instance, we’re still very short at centre-half and that’s a situation we need to rectify.”

United have been linked with moves for defender Shaun Miller (Crewe Alexandra) and Jeffrey Schlupp (Leicester City) and these two could be poised for a move to Bramall Lane.
