Ferreira, 34 is commonly known Zé Maria and has featured in 43 international fixtures for his country and netted on two occasions.
The former Parma defender is currently without a club after being released by Spanish outfit Lavante this summer after just 14 appearances during the twelve or so months he was present.
Despite a defender Ferreira can operate as a right-wing back as opposed to his natural position right-back. It is however unclear how long he will stay at the lane on trial.
