Blades to Make Loan Move

Sheffield United could dip into the loan market ahead of their upcoming fixtures against Reading, West Bromwich Albion and Watford with seven days due to a defender shortage.

Captain Chris Morgan lined up alongside Jonathan Fortune who stepped in following the departure of Matthew Kilgallon (to Sunderland) and Marcel Seip to injury.

However; Fortune has played little first team action - whilst recent reserve fixtures have also been cancelled due to the weather, leaving Blades boss Kevin Blackwell to search elsewhere fearing that a busy schedule may be too much for the former Charlton Athletic defender.

It is understood that defenders Alex Pearce (Reading) and Andrew Davies (Stoke City) are on the Blades hit list. Davies made seven (+1) appearances whilst on loan at Bramall Lane before Christmas this season.
