The United faithful don't need persuading really. That is proved by topping the list in the highest average attendance list last season. Around an average of 25,000 loyal United fans turned out in all weathers to see their team battle it out.

They have spent heavily, were on a terrific run and were probably expected to beat us and really make a challenge for the run-in."
