Both Brown and fellow young-gun Michael Tonge have shone through the high-flying squad.
The Red and White Wizards are currently 3rd in Division One and have done some Giant Killing this season in the Worthington Cup having beaten Leeds United, Sunderland and Liverpool.
However Blades chief executive Terry Robinson has revealed that United are very keen to keep Michael Brown.
He said: "Michael is in fine form at the moment. He is playing for a manager who likes him and has brought the best out of him in recent years.
"He is one of a number of young players we are entering into negotiations with. We intend to start talks with players whose current deals expire at the end of June 2004."
