Carney, 23 has been selected by his country to face the South American outfit in an International Friendly on 11 September 2007 in Melbourne.
The midfielder is currently out of the Blades squad as he is working on his fitness. Meanwhile Stephen Quinn has been selected by the Republic of Ireland U-21 National Team to face Portugal in their Euro 2008 Qualifier next month.
