Blackwell who recently won the Manager of the Month Award for March may see his Welsh midfielder David Cotterill pick up a similar award on Monday evening.
Cotterill who has converted three crucial penalties in the previous month sees his name in the contenders' list for the Powerade Player of the Month award. He faces stern competition from Michael Kightly (Wolves), Sammy Clingan (Norwich) and Robbie Blake (Burnley).
All of the nominees' clubs are the same clubs who had their manager named as a contender for the Manager of the Month Award (Blackwell, McCarthy, Coyle and Gunn).
The winner will be announced on Monday night on Sky Sports 1. Weekly programme Big League Weekend 2 will declare the winning player.
