The former Millwall and Southend United Full-Back was waiting till after the game with Bishop's Stortford see if their wage had gone in the bank. Unfortunatly for the Kingstonian team that has not happened and the 29 year old has threatened to call in the PFA next week unless they are rightfully paid.

Beard told The Non-League Paper; "If we don't get paid, I feel we have no option but to involve the PFA."

"They can look at the situation on our behalf, because no-one at the club knows what's going on. It does have an affect on teams moral, it might not have an affect on the pitch, but everyone's wondering when it will be sorted out. The players and manager Kim Harris are all in the dark."

"I don't know of any disagreement over money, it might have been a week late, but the cheques have been posted."

Beard arrived at Bramall Lane in March 1993 following his £119,000 transfer from Millwall, he played 26 times (19 subs) and failed to score a goal. He made his first team debut at home to Crystal Palace on 26 September 1996.

Following two successful loan spells at Roots Hall he signed in July 1998 on a free transfer but left to join Kingstonian in 2000.

Southend United took Beard back again in October 2001 but was released at the end of last season where he joined his current club.
