The Chinese went in heavily on Michael Mifsud and reacted after by kicking a water bottle. The FA in a statement said:
"Sheffield United defender Sun Jihai has been charged with improper conduct.
"The charge relates to the player's conduct after being shown a red card during Sheffield United's game against Coventry City on 16th September.
"Sun Jihai has until 6pm on Friday 19th September to admit or deny the charge. A Regulatory Commission will hear the case on Tuesday 23rd September."
