The exhibition, which has been organised by Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and hosted at the Millennium Galleries is to celebrate 150 years of football in the Steel City.

It will Unite football fans from around the Yorkshire region to celebrate one and a half decades of football which was founded in the County when Sheffield FC became the first professional club in 1857. The exhibition will be held between 18 to 25 May 2007 - admission is free.

The club were formed in 1857 by two keen cricketers who wanted to organise a sport to keep up their fitness during the winter months - sadly Sheffield FC never managed Football League status but are still going strong in the Non-League.

The exhibition will feature exhibits from Sheffield FC, and both Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday as will as Sheffield & Hallamshire FA, Yorkshire Film Archive and Kelham Island Museum.
