Hendrie entered the field with five minutes spare of normal time to try and adhere United's push for an equaliser. Two strong penalty appeals were turned down by criticised referee Mike Dean which left the Blades infuriated, none more so than the 32-year-old. At the climax of the final, he abused the officials and was shown a straight red card whilst Burnley were opening the bottles of champagne.Because of the incident, Hendrie has been given a £3,500 fine and a further one-game-ban added on to the original three-game-ban. The punishment will be valid at the beginning of next season for the first four games.
