Arguably, no one would have predicted that 28-year-old Darius Henderson would have been flying high in the goalscoring charts in the Championship at this stage of the season. But, scoring a hat-trick in his previous outing and a brace in the game before that, Henderson's been recognised for consistently hitting the back of the net.
The powerful centre-forward faces stern competition to collect the award, though. Newcastle's Kevin Nolan, Darren Ambrose of Crystal Palace and West Brom's Simon Cox are all also in contention. All of the nominees are attacking players, and United's Henderson is in front of the trio in terms of goals - he's struck the net 10 times so far this term.
Sky Sports' Soccer AM will announce the winner of the award on Saturday morning.
