The front-man, United's top goalscorer incidentally, has only just commented on his two spot-kicks at Oakwell last week, and has broken his silence on one certain thing. He has only just informed the lads that he didn't score his last two penalties at Watford so he was understandably chuffed to see two goals from the spot come in one game!

Hendo also confessed that he practiced his first penalty which was beautifully struck down the middle of Steele's goal. Darius said: "It was definitely pleasing, especially after my previous two penalties for Watford were missed! I suppose I went and made amends in such an important game.

"I told nobody that I had missed my previous two pens, and when people asked me before the Barnsley game if I was on pens, I said yes. If they asked if I had taken them before, I just reminded them about the play-off final penalty for Watford and not my last two!

"I believe that there was a variety with my two pens. It was something that I planned before the game. The strike down the middle was rehearsed and then I just thought I'd mix it up on the second one. Thankfully for the team, both of them went in.

"From now on, I'm on pens!"

The 28-year-old was the stand-in captain last Monday when Chris Morgan was suspended. Asked why he waved the captain's armband at the travelling contingent, he replied: "Obviously Morgs was out and he had been getting a lot of stick before the game from the Barnsley fans, so it was an appreciation for our great skipper."
