Jimmy was manager at Bramall Lane for two years (1975 - 1977). The highlight of his managerial career has to be his times at Notts County when he succeed in transforming them from the bottom tiers of English football to the top flight.

Jimmy created the Sheffield United badge which is used nowadays.

He sat down and created the crest himself and was undoubtedly pleased with his work. His other managerial spell was with Brentford, while he had two spells at Meadow Lane.

Their will be a minutes silence at the Lane for Bernard Procter who died earlier this week. Jimmy will also be remembered. The flags at Bramall Lane are currently flying at half mast.
