Kilgallon, last week, expressed that he wants to play in the top-flight as quickly as possible in an interview with Sky Sports News. He also lashed out that he hadn't been offered a new contract at Beautiful Downtown Bramall Lane - this has alerted Premier League clubs and the likes of Bolton and Wigan are supposedly interested in the 25-year-old's services.

Kevin Blackwell, Sheffield United's injury troubled gaffer, told The Sheffield Star today: "We have made a significant offer to Matt, but it doesn't appear to have been acceptable to either him or his agent." Blackwell added: "The offer happened a few weeks ago."

The newspaper also confirms that the club will ensure that they will not break their wage structure.

Kilgallon didn't play his best of games in a Blades shirt on Saturday against Scunthorpe United. Reports have been circulating that obscene words between Kilgallon and a member of the backroom staff on the bench at Glanford Park on Saturday occurred.
