Manager to Be Named Soon...

Sheffield United have been without a manager since the dismissal of Danny Wilson on 10th April, almost two months ago. Since then there have been many, many names linked with the job and has seen experienced managers turn it down, most notably Stuart McCall (Motherwell boss) and recently Graham Arnold (Central Coast Mariners). Meanwhile Kenny Jackett (formerly with Millwall) has been handed the reins at League One rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Julian Winter told; "We are determined to follow a procedure to find the right person for Sheffield United. We recognise there is a lot of interest and we will make an announcement as soon as we are able to do so. We always knew it was likely to take some time but we are confident that our choice will be the right way forward for this club," said Mr Winter, part of a three man team plus football consultant and former boss Dave Bassett tasked with recruiting a new manager. We still have got some more interviews and will then look to appoint from the strong line-up of candidates.”

Whilst no one is in the clear as to who will be chosen as successor to Mr. Wilson, suggestions amongst the fans will be that either former Blades defender Robert Page (with Wally Downes as his assistant), who is currently a coach at Port Vale or Aidy Boothroyd (Northampton Town manager), who narrowly missed out on promotion to League One in the Play-Off Final are the final two candidates to battle it out.
