For the spectators it really depended on whom you support depended on how you felt the feel of the game. United fans would be jubilant in seeing a first win of 2007 whilst poor Fulham (with no shots on target) would be disappointed with their display.
Blades boss Neil Warnock was happy with the performance; particularly in the first half; "The manner of the win was excellent. We scored two goals and we created a lot more chances.
"When we had to defend we coped well and I don't think Paddy Kenny had a shot to save - it was a thoroughly professional performance.
"I was delighted with every member of the team. I really enjoyed the game because we dominated for long periods."
The Cottages boss Chris Coleman didn't have much to shout about; "From start to finish we were very disappointing. We did not force their keeper into a save and did not deserve anything from the game.
"I've come to expect a certain level of performance from this team and I did not see this coming."
"We have let ourselves down and our fans down. It is a long way to come on a cold night and we did not perform."
