Match Preview: Blades v Bradford City

Last updated : 18 March 2004 By @blades_mad1889

Dean Windass: Former Blade  now at Bantams.
The Blades were involved a in a disappointing 1-1 draw with rivals Rotherham United at Millmoor. United took the lead through a Jack Lester penalty after Andy Gray was pulled down while the Millers drew level through Andy Monkhouse.

Midfielder Nick Montgomery and Defender Mike Whitlow return from suspension, though Monty did play in the Derby clash at Rotherham.

Neil Warnock has hinted that Defender Ashley Sestanovich could make his first appearance for the Blades since his arrival in Feburary 2002 from Hampton & Richmond Borough for £10,000. He almost started on the bench in a 2-0 win over Watford, but for a unsteady pitch.

However we are unsure as yet whether new signing Simon Francis will be allowed to play against the club United bought him from in that £200,000 transfer fee this week.

Bryan Robson saw his side draw 0-0 with Wigan Athletic last Saturday though the Bantams claim that they should have won when a stone wall penalty was turned down.

The Bantams will be without Simon Francis who left for Bramall Lane earlier this week, while Ronnie Wallwock returned to West Bromwich Albion after sustaining a foot injury.

Stuart McCall: Former Valley Parade Hero Now At Blades.

Former Fulham striker Luke Cornwall will be missing after he completed a free transfer to Woking who is managed by former Blade Glenn Cockerill these days.

Alun Armstrong has returned to Ipswich Town after sufering with a thigh injury, Danny Cadamarteri will miss the game to a hamstring injury while former Blades trialist Jason Gavin is suspended.
