United have had there usual low key pre-season against non-league opposition with just a new exceptions, that 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur being our greatest game.

Ashley Ward has returned from injury and is expected to start, however main man Jack Lester (knee) and defender Robert Kozluk (foot) will sit the opener out through injury.

New-comers Leigh Bromby, Jon Harley, Alan Quinn and Barry Hayles are expected to make their full debuts whilst Paul Thirlwell should play some part in the game as sub. Scotsman Andy Gray should start up front with Hayles.

As for the clarets new manger Steve Cotterill will be in charge of his first competitive game and is expected to give a debut to former

Grimsby keeper Danny Coyne in place of Brian Jensen.

Micah Hyde should also make his debut against the club he spent time on trial at during the summer as should Frank Sinclair, John McGreal and Michael Duff.

Star strikers Robbie Blake and Ian Moore are now match fit and will start despite fears that they wouldn't.
