The Blades haven't played a game at Bramall Lane for over a month now, their last fixture was a 1-1 home draw with Everton. Since then United have been on their travels to Chelsea (0-3) and Bolton Wanderers (0-1), which they lost both.

Sheffield United were rocked by the injury of Rob Hulse during that game at Stamford Bridge after he collided with keeper Petr Cech, as a result he broke his leg in two places and will be out for the remainder of the season.

Matthew Kilgallon is likely to start of the Blades at left-back, he made his debut at Bolton last weekend after signing from Leeds United last January.

Newcastle United go to Bramall Lane on back of a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City at St James' Park, Emile Empenza netting in font of over a 52,000 crowed.

The Toon will be without Australian Craig Moore who is suffering from a groin injury, whilst Shola Amiobi (hip) and striker Michael Owen (knee) are defiantly out.
