The South Yorkshire born manager admitted that United deserved to take all three points and described the Blades as a 'strong team'. His thoughts in the aftermath of the Boxing Day game were following:

"Both of the games have been hard and if someone had said to me at the start of the season that we'd have taken 4 points off of Sheffield United, I'd have been delighted.

"And I'd have taken a point today as well because they played very well and probably were the better side and had the better chances. That hasn't happened too often against us this season.

"Have a look at Sheffield United's squad. Naysmith - Premier League player, Naughton - will be a Premier League player no question, different class. I think Quinny played in the Premier League and Montgomery too while Howard is a good player.

"Beattie is one of the best strikers in the league without a doubt and Dyer is a right handful as well even though Stephen Ward was suffering the after-effects from illness today."
