The Aussie international has been consistentently playing in the reserves throughout the season, but he has jumped at the opportunity to sign for the struggling Canaries.

Carney didn't impress in his only appearance at Huddersfield in the Carling Cup, but he has moved to Norfolk not just to play regular football, but to keep his international picture alive.

On his move to Carrow Road, Carney said: "I'm delighted to be joining a club such as Norwich - the Club is obviously in a position they shouldn't be and hopefully I can do something to help move the team up the table. I can't wait to get started."

He arrived at Bramall Lane in August 2007 from Sydney FC. He paraded on the pitch before the home pre-season encounter against Nottingham Forest with James Beattie.
