A statement on Barnsley's official website reads:

"Barnsley Football Club are today appealing for information after missiles, including coins, were thrown from the CK Beckett Stand on Saturday (November 8, 2008).

Fortunately, on this instance, no serious injury was caused. Any information given will be treated in the strictest confidence.

The Club are currently reviewing CCTV footage of the game and any individuals who are identified will be subsequently banned from attending any future fixtures at Oakwell and their details will be passed to South Yorkshire Police."

Are Barnsley indicating the following. When Beattie scored his first goal, if you look closely on the highlights, Beattie slides in at the back-post to score and there was a bottle thrown at him with a full capacity of liquid contained inside and it narrowly missed him.
