Mooney, aged 31 is rumored to have fallen out with ex-Blade boss Steve Bruce after a bust up in training, he can play upfront and in midfield if needed but his short spell at Stoke City this season has proved to be unsuccessful.

Neil Warnock has been chasing the striker for two years now without success but the Blades boss quoted on sufc.co.uk "Tommy knows he will have to play to the top of his form to get in the side.".

Mooney was signed from Watford on a free transfer in summer of 2001 and has made only one appearance for the Blues this season. Also we are pleased to announce that Mooney is not Cup-Tied in either Worthington or Football Association Cup.

Meanwhile the Blades have loaned out french midfielder Jean-Philipe Javary to Midlands club Walsall until the end of the current 2002-03 season.
