1253302197_spt_ai_sheffutd_sheffwed_09I'm sure there'll be no arguments over Blade through and through centre-back Chris Morgan being handed the trophy for the Supporters' Player of the Year Award at an event at Bramall Lane after the Coventry game on Saturday evening. However, the captain believes Nick Montgomery, who has undoubtedly been at his best since coming to S2 in 2000, should have swooped the esteemed prize.

Meanwhile, Jamie Ward finished second and was presented with a runner-up trophy. The striker, who has played on the wings for a lot of this season, has been troubled with a hamstring injury from the Sheffield Wednesday game last September; a game which he incidentally scored the opening goal in. The former Chesterfield man has netted eight times in all competitions so far, and it'll end on eight as he's sidelined for the remainder of the season after further damaging his hamstring against Barnsley just over a week ago.

Well done, Morgs!
