The 2:1 win at Coventry meant that United broke a 120 year old record which stood at 11 games unbeaten away from Bramall Lane in the league - but the current crop of players have smashed the everlasting record. Unitedites don't need reminding where the last defeat away from home occurred.

Morgan said: "The lads weren't aware of it until after the game when Sam Ellis told us. To break such a record is something everybody can be proud of and to do it away from home tells you a lot about the character within the squad.

"It is such an inconsistent league, but we try to be positive home and away. It isn't our job to be the crowds pleasers when you are on the road so I suppose in that respect it is maybe slightly easier.

"We have never gone away from home to sit back and soak up the pressure, and even on Wednesday we had a few chances to increase our lead and were really disappointed to let them back in. Despite the tense ending we never felt in any real danger on not winning the game."
