United will have to attempt getting into the Premier League the hard way when Birmingham pipped them to second place on Sunday. Morgan at the climax of the game, was caught walking over to the away faithful to keep the spirits high and don't assure the fans no to get too negative.

Morgs said: "I noticed that a lot of our supporters looked a bit down and I can understand that they were disappointed that a day that could have ended with promotion, didn't. They had made a big effort in all sorts of ways to be there in force to support us in great style.

"But we still have the same target via a different route and I urge as many of them as possible to follow us over the two legs to keep the dream alive. The lads are positive and the battle carries on. We are the third best team in this division, so we can be confident and believe in our ability."

Morgan will captain the red and white wizards at Deepdale and Bramall Lane on Friday and Monday respectively, just like he has done all season long when featured. Tickets continue to be on sale for the two intriguing games,
