The 2008-09 Championship fixtures were released today and fans have been awaiting the most important fixtures. The Blades will encounter in six local derbies against Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley and new promoted Doncaster Rovers whilst Nottingham Forest and Derby County aren't too far away either.
The Blades first derby of the season is at the new Keepmoat Stadium at the end of September \where they face Doncaster before meeting Wednesday at Hillsborough two weeks later.
All our local derbies will be played away first with our final game being played at Oakwell on 8 November before meeting Doncaster (January), Sheffield Wednesday (February) and finally Barnsley a week after facing the Owls.
In other important fixtures the Blades travel to Wolverhampton on Boxing Day and Crystal Palace on the final day of the seasaon, United face Swansea City in our final home league game.
