Since the start of the 2000-01 campaign the Blades have had a number of players on their books (mainly strikers); we've selected a total of 128 of them which shall be whittled down just nineteen.
We hope that by the end of December 2010 a squad made up of eleven players; seven substitutes and one manger will give us our team of the decade 2000-10.
There have been so many players over the years that we have only selected those whom have made more than ten appearances for the Bramall Lane outfit; including those who have only been on loan. Players who have been on United's books this season (2010/11) but haven't played ten games have been included.
Many strikers have graced the turf at a the Lane in a red and white shirt and we have 34 of them in our list; so we have split them into three different polls and then a final poll will be placed at the end to determine our final front two (plus substitutes).
We aim to find various players in each position; Goalkeeper (x2), Right Full-Back (x1), Centre-Half (x4), Left Full-Back (x1), Right Midfielder (x1), Centre-Midfielder (x4), Left Midfielder (x1), Striker (x4). The most popular centre-half is likely to be chosen as our team captain.
