Play-off run in (part 2)

Last updated : 18 April 2008 By Jamie Furniss
On Saturday we published an article called Play-off run in. That particular article involved all the final fixtures for all the play-off chasing teams. This article Play-off run in (part 2) is to show you all the previews of the play-off chasing teams.
Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace tackle London rivals Watford in a play-off special. The two team currently occupy two of the four play-off places as Aidy Boothroyd's Watford are still searching for automatic promotion. Former Blades boss Neil Warnock will be looking to get his second promotion to the Premiership.

Wolves/Ipswich
Both Wolves and Ipswich are very close contenders for 6th spot as they play eachother at Molenuix. Did you know that if Wolves and Ipswich draw and Palace lose the Blades will go 2 points off the play-offs regarding United win.

Ipswich's away record hasn't been great this season while not many teams have gone to Molenuix and collected all three points. The Blades haven't lost against Wolves nor Ipswich this season.

Charlton
The Addicks take on the team (QPR) which is the only club in the Championship that can now not play for anything. Charlton's recent home record has been appauling so they will be delighted that they will be away and travelling to Loftus Road

Plymouth
Argyle will be playing at Home Park against one of the form sides in the league Preston. Despite saying that, Preston have been losing of late. The Pilgrims came to Sheffield on Monday night as they played Sheffield Wednesday but had to settle for a point after a late Tommy Spurr goal.

Cardiff
The Bluebirds take the long journey to Yorkshire as they play already relegated Scunthorpe at Glanford Park. Cardiff could go to Wembley three times this season. Fa Cup final after they beat Barnsley, Play-off final and the Charity Shield if they beat Portsmouth.  They will still be motivated for the league games according to manager Dave Jones though.

Sheffield United
The Blades have been on great form recently. After the 2:1 win at Turf Moor on Saturday they now take on 2nd place Hull City who will also be searching for automatic promotion. The play-offs would be dissapointing from a Hull prespective, but the Blades can still sneak up the table and grab that 6th spot and take one more massive step to the promise land.

Play-off run in (part 3) will be published after all of Saturday's games on Saturday night.
