WAYNE QUINN: ONCE PLAYED FOR SHEFFIELD UNITED.
Quinn was released by the Toon this summer but has yet to find a new club. He joined Newcastle from Sheffield United for £800,000 in 2001 after starting his career in 1995 with the Blades as an YTS.

He made his debut on the opening day of the 1997/98 season in a 2-0 win over Sunderland, he went onto play 159 (10 as sub) appearances and scored 6 goals. He joined Newcastle initially on loan in January 2001 before making a permanent switch a month later.

During 2002/03 season he had a loan spell back at Bramall Lane where he earned 10 more games but he was no way near his best, years of playing in the reserves had rotted the talents which took him to the Magpies.

Last season he had a loan spell at West Ham United until being released this summer, and now is trying to get into new comers to the Coca-Cola Championship Playmouth Argyle.

Argyle boss Bobby Williamson said; "He is coming in for a couple of days training so that we can have a look at him.

"We'll see how it goes and take it from there."
