Reaction from Ashton Gate

United hung on for the point when penalty claims, goal line clearances and some terrific saves from Paddy Kenny sent United back up north happy to come away with a point from inform Bristol City.

Sam Ellis after the match said: "It was a well contested game which we dominated in the 1st half but had to fight for everything afterwards when City came back at us - we were happy with how we coped.

"We were in control to begin with but you can't expect to maintain that for 90 minutes against an in form team which has been playing well.

"They are a good side who play direct football but we have taken 4 points from them in a month and not conceded a goal. Paddy Kenny made a great double save just after the break but no better than their keeper had to do against Beattie's free-kick and then again in the 92nd minute."

The last time a striker scored a goal this season was against the Robins at the start of this month in the home clash at Bramall Lane. But Ellis says he's not worried on the lack of goals scored by his front men.

He continued: "Whilst we would have liked to have won we are not worried by the lack of goals recently whilst ever the opposition goalkeeper is having to make saves like that, especially in the last minute - we are playing well and making chances.

"When you are not scoring you have to keep a clean sheet. We have lost one in seven games - with ten men - and this keeps the run going."

United are top in the less goals conceded table. Only eight goals have been put past Paddy Kenny and his backline, but Birmingham are looming behind with just the nine conceded.
