The 30 year old, who was snapped up for a mire £75,000 came off the bench to score his second goal in two games having scored on his last appearance for Gillingham against Charlton.

After the game he commented that coming off the bench on his debut wasn't the easiest way to start, but was impressed with the teams overall performance.

Shaw told sufc.co.uk; "It was tough for the boys but they worked hard and I don't think many teams would have come back like that. The boys were positive throughout and I could see that they believed they could do it."

"There is so much quality in this squad. I haven't trained with them much but I've seen it already and we must have a good chance."

"It was a great atmosphere with over 20,000 in the ground and you don't get that too often in this division. I enjoyed it."
