Rogers has been told by the club that he is no longer required and can leave Bramall Lane. He has joined the Silkmen on a trial basis with manager John Askey pondering a permanent transfer.
The keeper joined the Blades last summer from Wrexham but has only made one appearance in the 2-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers in the Carling Cup.
