Speed targets signings

Sheffield United manager Gary Speed is hoping to add at least one player to his squad before Tuesday's transfer deadline. Speed completed his first signing last week when French defender Jean Calve became the club's ninth summer arrival and wants to further strengthen before the transfer window closes at 6pm on Tuesday. Speed said: "We're looking because if we have everyone fit we have a strong squad, but injuries can upset us, so I will be hoping to bring at least one in. "I'm looking for attacking players, perhaps with a bit of pace. When Mark Yeates came on and did that against Preston it was great, so if our bench players can stay motivated and sharp enough to be able to do that we have a chance in this league. "We don't want to lose anybody and if we can add one or two, fine, but if we don't it won't be the end of the world."
