Stags sign Blades Defender

Doane, 22, goes straight into the squad for the local derby at Chesterfield - and is set to replace left-back Adam Eaton, who has returned to Preston North End.

Stags boss Keith Curle told the club's website: "He is a versatile player who is comfortable in any back row position, or in midfield.

"I will be asking him to concentrate on defensive duties at first."
