Sheffield United's 3-1 victory in pre-season in July at Grimsby Town was overshadowed by reports of clashes between supporters of the two teams.

Perry Keith Smith, 30, from Sheffield, pleaded guilty to assault at an earlier hearing at Grimsby Magistrates' Court and has been banned from all-football matches for three years and fined £230.

During the clashes, two police officers were injured.

The two teams will face each other again in the Checkatrade Trophy on 8th November, we hope that this fixture will be completed without issue.
