Ten games and just over ten weeks into the season, club officials have only just launched the Blades' alternative third kit.

EA Sports' FIFA11, released 11 days ago, included Sheffield United's brand new home and away strips (as usual), but they also had a third grey and lime kit down, much to the perplexity of United fans.

It's now been made official, and the Blades will wear a grey and lime kit if necessary in away games. The club has laid on a £5 off all shirts (including the new third shirt) offer for Unitedites to take advantage of this weekend only!

The grey and lime kit will go on sale on Saturday October 16, the day of Burnley's trip across the Pennines to Bramall Lane.

United released a third commemorative shirt last season to celebrate the club's 120 year history. The black shirt included the names of every single player to don the red and white stripes of Sheffield United.
